Uzbekistan Increased Avocado Imports by Nearly 50% in Early 2026

Between January and April 2026, Uzbekistan imported 115.8 tons of avocados with a total value of 313,000 USD. According to the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the volume of deliveries increased by 49.5 tons, or 46.6%, compared to the same period in 2025.

During the reporting period, the product was supplied from 12 countries. Kazakhstan became the key trading partner in this category, accounting for the main share of imports at 74.8 tons. The largest supplying countries also included China (26.5 tons), Israel (12.4 tons), the Netherlands (10.5 tons), and Peru (9 tons). The total volume of deliveries from other countries amounted to 22.6 tons.

The dynamic growth in imports of exotic fruits, particularly avocados, reflects a shift in consumption culture and the development of modern grocery retail in Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan's significant share (nearly 65% of the total volume) is explained not by domestic avocado cultivation, but by its role as a logistics hub for re-exporting products to Central Asian countries. The further expansion of the fresh produce category in Uzbek retail opens up additional opportunities for logistics companies specializing in refrigerated transport and temperature-controlled warehouse facilities.
